Well, our plans are set—Tanja, Lance and I will meet up with my sister, Mom, and step-Dad in Colorado for the annual "Ride the Rockies" cycling tour (http://www.ridetherockies.com/default.asp?page=route) through the Rocky Mountains---Grand Junction to Breckenridge: 405 miles in 7 days, including three mountain passes all greater than 10,000ft (I feel tired just thinking about it).
And how will I deal with the altitude coming from sea level in Texas, you ask? Drugs, of course! My step-Dad just happens to know a “dude” who’s climbed Everest, and so knows all about making the body perform at high exertion levels at altitude, including what drugs to take. Although the “ride” really is designed for fun, and not technically a race, I plan on exerting myself as much as possible to stay ahead of one strong little lady: my sister, Brynn (who just got her first road bike--a Klein). The word is she’s been putting in some training time in Montana….keep up the hard work Brynn!
