First, January: A visit from Ilse's Dad, Polo! The last time we saw Polo was in 2000 at our wedding, (Ilse has seen him many times, flying easily from TX to Mexico City). While visiting Ilse and Tiina, Polo was able to spend some time at our house. It was great to see you, Polo!
These two have way too much fun together!
Then, in February, my Dad and Patty came to visit us from Alaska! This was my Dad's first time seeing Lance since he was 4 months old. The gifts he brought (toy trucks) continue to be some of Lance's favorites. "Thank you Grandpa!"
Finally, in April Tiina made the all-important decision to become a member at her church. She invited us down for the membership induction and we happily went! While there we had some precious moments with Joe's mother, and Lance's great-grandma, Librada. That weekend was also the weekend of the Austin Finnish commuity's annual picnic! A good time was had by all as I ate food and tried to pick up on bits and pieces of conversation : -)
